Rehras Sahib in Punjabi: Let us Pray

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
Ik ōaṅkār saṯigur prasāḏ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru.

ਰਾਗੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਚਉਪਦੇ ॥
Rāg rāṯe mahalā 5 cẖaupade.
Raag Raatee, Fifth Mehl, Chau-Padas:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ ॥
Vāhigurū jī kā khālsā vāhigurū jī kī faṯah.
The Khalsa belongs to God and victory is of God.

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ ॥
Āḏ sacẖ jugāḏ sacẖ.
True in the primal beginning. True throughout the ages.

ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ॥੧॥
Hai bẖī sacẖ Nānak hosī bẖī sacẖ. ||1||
True here and now. O Nanak, forever and ever true. ||1||

Sodar:

ਪਵਣੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਧਰਤਿ ਮਹਤੁ ॥
Pavaṇ Gurū pāṇī piṯā māṯā ḏẖaraṯ maḥaṯ.
Air is the Guru, Water is the Father, and Earth is the Great Mother of all.

ਦਿਵਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਦਾਈ ਦਾਇਆ ਖੇਲੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ॥
Ḏivas rāṯ ḏu▫e ḏā▫ī ḏā▫i▫ā kẖelai sagal jagaṯ.
Day and night are the two nurses, in whose lap all the world is at play.

ਚੰਚਲ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਚਿਤੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਇਕੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਤਿ ਿਚ ॥
Cẖanacẖal cẖaṯurā▫ī cẖiṯ vicẖ ik vasai maṯ cẖ.
Mind is the playful bird in that field of the Lord, and it came to settle in the Lord’s mind.

ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਇਕੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਮੈ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
Sabh▫nā jī▫ā kā ik ḏāṯā so mai visar na jā▫ī.
All the world is the creation of the One, the Giver of all souls. May I never forget Him.

**ਸਚਾ ਸ

ਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਇ ॥**
Sacẖā sāhib sacẖ nā▫e.
The True Lord and Master is true, and true is His Name.

ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਕਰੀ ਨਾਇ ॥
Karṯā purakẖ karī nā▫e.
Creative His Power, and it shall always be true.

ਸਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਚੁ ਕਾਇ ॥
Sacẖ man vasai sacẖ kā▫e.
True is His Name, and true is His dwelling.

ਕਰਮੀ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ॥**
Karmī āvaṇ jāṇ.
Through His making, He cannot be known.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਰਿ ਨਿਹਰਿ ਦਿਖੈ ਦਾਣੁ ॥੧॥
Nānak naḏrī naḏar nihar nihar ḏikẖai ḏāṇ. ||1||
O Nanak, by His Glance of Grace, He is seen in His Glorious Greatness. ||1||

ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Bilāval mahalā 5.
Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:

ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਇ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Gur govinḏ rang lā▫i▫ā har āpe lā▫e milā▫e.
The Guru has lovingly implanted the Lord, Har, into my heart; the Lord Himself has brought me to meet Him.

ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਇਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਿਨਾਨੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Ḏarsan pa▫i▫ā merai saṯgurū bin bināne pi▫āre.
I have obtained the Blessed Vision of my Lord and Master; without the Lord, I cannot survive.

ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਰਖਤੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਰਿੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
Kāraṇ karaṇ har rakẖaṯ saḏā sārin jinhī nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e.
The Lord is the Cause of causes, the Doer of deeds; He preserves the honor of His devotees forever. Those who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord,

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੨॥
Nānak sacẖe sacẖ mėh samā▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, they merge and blend with the Truest of the True. ||2||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Mājẖ mahalā 5.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪਰਮਾਣੰਦ ॥
Pārbarahm parmesur purakẖ parabranand.
The Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, the Supreme Soul, Parbrahm, the Lord of Supreme Bliss.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਵਸਤੁ ਕੀਆ ਵਥੁ ॥
Bin sabḏai pūrā ṯerā ki▫ā vasṯ kī▫ā vath.
Without the Shabad, the Word of the Lord’s Bani, what use is there to any rituals or religious rites?

ਸਚੁ ਬੋਲਣੁ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਣਣੁ ਸਚੁ ਰਖਣੁ ਸਚੁ ਜਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਥੁ ॥
Sacẖ bolan sacẖ suṇan sacẖ rakẖaṇ sacẖ jė gur sabḏ kaṯẖ.
True is the Word of the True Lord; True is the Word to which we listen. True is the Word of the Shabad, the Word of Praise. The Gurmukh speaks the Unspoken.

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੋਵਣਿ ਅਗਾਹਣੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮ ਕਾਮ ॥
Ḏūjai bẖā▫e kẖovaṇ agāhaṇe har sabḏ sam kām.
In the love of duality, they are lost and ruined; through the Word of the Lord’s Shabad, they are united in His Union.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪਣੁ ਸਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਪਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਪੁਰਖਿ ॥੩॥
Gurmukẖ japaṇ sacẖ ḏariṛ pi▫ā har Nānak hosī purakẖ. ||3||
The Gurmukh chants the True Word and becomes stable; O Nanak, he becomes the true person. ||3||

ਸੋਦਰ ਸਭ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
Sōḏar sabẖ vicẖ āp upā▫i▫ā.
The Lord created Himself throughout all.

**ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਸਿ ਵਿ

ਚਿ ਆਪੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥**
Kā▫i▫ā kans vicẖ āp samā▫i▫ā.
The body is the temple, in which the Lord has manifested Himself.

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਖੁ ॥
Bāhar bāhar ḏūkẖ vicẖ sukẖ.
On the outside, there is pain; on the inside, there is pleasure.

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬਿਚਿ ਸੋ ਆਪਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥੪॥
Nānak āpe saṯgur bicẖ so āp sabaḏ gavāvai. ||4||
O Nanak, the True Guru is Himself within, and He causes us to chant the Shabad. ||4||

ਪਉੜੀ ॥
Pa▫urī.
Pauree:

ਮਾਣਸ ਤਨਿ ਮੂਤੀ ਬੂਝਤੇ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਪੂਤ ॥
Māṇas ṯan mūṯī būjẖṯe ahaʼnbuḏẖ pūṯ.
If you understand your own self, then you shall understand your family and relatives.

ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਭਾਈ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੂਤ ॥
Bin būjẖe bẖā▫ī bẖavjal vichahu hai gur piṯā sūṯ.
Without understanding, O Siblings of Destiny, you are trapped in the terrifying world-ocean; the Guru is the Father, and the Guru is the Mother.

ਪਰਾਣੀ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ॥
Parāṇī pinḏ sabẖ āp parāpaṯ hai sacẖ saṯgurū.
O mortal, this body is all your own, and you shall receive only what you have given.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਿਆਰੂ ॥੫॥
Nānak gurmukẖ āp pacẖẖāṇ jinhī sacẖ pi▫ārū. ||5||
O Nanak, as Gurmukh, recognize your own self, and through the True Lord, you shall find the Beloved. ||5||

ਕਲਿ ਘਰਿ ਪਇਆ ਸਚੁ ਮਣਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ॥੨॥੩॥
Kal gẖar pa▫i▫ā sacẖ maṇ vasai har Nānak ḏar sukẖ. ||2||3||
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, has been placed within the home of the self; O Nanak, at the Lord’s Door, there is peace. ||2||3||
